FA reach settlement with sacked former England womens manager Mark Sampson
Former England women’s manager Mark Sampson has reached a settlement with the Football Association regarding his sacking in September 2017.Sampson, 36, was relieved of his duties by the FA in following the emergence of evidence of “inappropriate and unacceptable behaviour” in his previous role as manager at Bristol Academy.2

Sampson had brought a case of unfair dismissal against the FA, which was due to be heard this week.In a statement, the FA said: “We can confirm that a confidential settlement has been entered into between the FA and Mark Sampson to bring the dispute around the termination of his employment to an agreed close.“We will not be commenting further on the matter.”2

Sampson was fired one day after his team beat Russia 6-0 following a safeguarding investigation during his time at Bristol.He was also the focus of bullying and racism allegations, first made by striker Eni Aluko, previously of England and Chelsea.The FA said the claims were investigated twice, and Sampson was cleared of any wrongdoing.Former Manchester United midfielder Phil Neville was appointed as Sampson’s successor last year.
