A local lad, Jones was born and raised in Liverpool.Jurgen Klopp has called him a ‘proper Scouser’, with the youngster gaining valuable first-team experience over pre-season.Versatile and capable of playing anywhere across the midfield, Jones can pick a pass and packs a shot that has been likened to a certain Steven Gerrard.He scored three times in five matches as the Reds topped their Uefa Youth League group in the early stages of this season and is being tipped for big things.Getty3

Klopp was clearly impressed and included Jones in his US 2018 summer tour squad, where he played 45 minutes against Dortmund and 62 minutes against the Premier League champions.Following his eye-catching performance against City, Jones said: Im just going out there trying to impress and doing the best I can. Im listening to everything the manager has been saying and trying to put that into practice.To be able to train every day with so many class players has been amazing for me.Theyll come over and have a little word in my ear. Steve Gerrard had high praise for the youngster

Gerrard was in charge of Jones’ development last season before heading to Rangers, and was impressed with what he saw from the youngster.He said: “Im really pleased and proud of Curtis this season, for his effort and commitment to the team cause and he has added big numbers to his game.We will probably see Curtis more with the U23s now, and he has earned that.In terms of the day, for him its very special. Lets hope he goes from strength to strength now and he sees this as the beginning.

How old is he?

The Liverpool youngster was born on January 30, 2001.He’s just 17 and already knocking on the first-team door with his performances so far this summer.

When did he join Liverpool?

Jones was first signed up to the Reds academy for their under-9s team.His progression through the ranks saw him playing for both the u18s and u19s team, learning from Kop legend Gerrard.In February 2018 he put pen to paper on his first professional deal.
