Sol Campbell explains why Arsenal legend Sylvain Wiltord would be the ultimate nightmare player to manage
Sol Campbell has admitted one of his former Arsenal team-mates would have been a nightmare to manage in an exclusive interview with talkSPORT.After landing his first job in management this season, the former defender revealed which of his old Arsenal and Tottenham team-mates would have been a dream to coach and which wouldnt.Campbell was appointed manager of League Two strugglers Macclesfield Town in November, and has guided his side off the foot of the League Two table with four wins from his opening 11 matches. He sat down for an exclusive chat with talkSPORT on Wednesday, and revealed which Arsenal and Tottenham legends he would love to have managed.Sol Campbell has taken on his first managerial job4

But there was a certain Arsenal ‘Invincible’ he admitted would have had him pulling his hair out… which is quite a feat.Asked what former team-mates would have been a pleasure to coach, he said: David Seaman, Patrick Vieira, Tony Adams, Martin Keown, Robert Pires theyre amazing guys.
Sol Campbell on talkSPORT:
  • Why Tottenham are the kings of north London over Arsenal at the moment
  • Unai Emery is doing a really good job at Arsenal but needs time
  • Macclesfield boss inspired by Guardiola and Klopp for their passion

Even from my Tottenham days, people like Jurgen Klinsmann, like Gary Mabbutt he was a proper professional, you know hes not going to muck around, hes going to do everything in his power to do a proper job. When you start getting to know the mentality of the players, thats when you can truly trust them.Campbell says former Arsenal captain Tony Adams was a player he could trust4

And asked what players would have been the ultimate nightmare, he named just oneCampbell said: Its interesting for me, because youve got someone like Sylvain Wiltord who was incredible for France, but sometimes you could pull your hair out with him [with Arsenal].But he just scored so many important goals.Wiltord was voted 33rd in an official list of the 50 greatest Arsenal players of all time4

Hes not wrong. French star Wiltord scored the winning goal in a famous 1-0 victory over Manchester United which handed Arsenal the Premier League title at Old Trafford in 2002.He spent four years with the Gunners, scoring 49 goals in 175 appearances. Its those kind of guys, who make your blood pressure go up and down all the time, but then they turn up and score really important goals.

Transfer news: How Inter Milan could look under Antonio Conte next season, including Manchester United and Chelsea stars
Inter Milan are hoping Antonio Conte is the man who can fire the Italian giants back into Europe’s elite after officially announcing his appointment last Friday.Securing Champions League football was not enough for Luciano Spalletti to keep his job so San Siro chiefs moved quickly to sign the ex-Chelsea and Juventus boss.Conte has returned to management with Inter Milangetty8
Conte has returned to management with Inter Milan
The 49-year-old will be hoping to replicate his success at his former clubs with the Nerazzuri and he will no doubt already be going through the first stages of planning for next season. But who could be heading Conte’s way in the transfer market? Below, talkSPORT.com has picked a potential Inter line-up next season with the Italian’s reported targets…

Diego Godin

Last month, Diego Godin announced he will be leaving Atletico Madrid this summer, and the veteran defender has been heavily linked with Inter.Albeit 33 years old, the Uruguayan centre-back is still a hugely commanding presence at the back.He could be in a solid-looking back-three alongside Milan Skriniar and Stefan de Vrij.Godin is leaving Atletico and Inter is his likeliest destinationGetty8

Victor Moses

Moses and Conte worked together for two years at Stamford Bridge and it’s safe to say the Nigeria international’s most successful spell of his career came under the Italian.Moses was a revelation down the right-hand side of Conte’s set-up – he could burst forward with pace and power and know he would automatically have cover from the back three behind him.The 28-year-old has been linked with a move to Inter following Conte’s appointment but the Serie A club will have to negotiate his transfer with Chelsea, with the full-back currently on loan with Super Lig side Fenerbahce.Moses is currently on loan at Fenerbahce from ChelseaGetty8

Sander Berge

Conte is also said to be on the hunt for another defensive midfielder to compete with Marcelo Brozovic and Genk’s Norwegian star Berge is said to be the player being considered.Berge has excelled this season in the Belgian league, delivering some assured performances in front of the back four.He is just 21 years old and has bags of potential – he could become a mainstay for in Conte’s line-up for years to come.Norwegian sensation Berge is also reportedly on Conte’s wish-list8

Nicolo Barella

Radja Nainggolan looks set to be Conte’s first choice in central midfield and joining him might be Cagliari midfielder Barella. The Italian international, previously compared to Steven Gerrard, has been heavily linked with a switch to the San Siro, and talks between the Nerazzurri and the players agent are believed to have taken place in recent weeks.Reports last week suggested a deal is close to being agreed between the two parties, with a fee of 45million mooted for the midfielder.Cagliari’s Nicolo Barella is a target of Inter8

Edin Dzeko

Inter Milan are planning a double swoop on two big name strikers should Mauro Icardi leave the club in the summer – and the first one is Roma marksman Edin Dzeko. The ex-Man City man did not have his finest season this term but he was still a handful for defences, netting nine goals in 33 appearances for his side.Conte is said to be a big admirer of the Bosnian and could partner the forward up with Romelu Lukaku in a lethal top two.Inter have been linked with Dzeko8

Romelu Lukaku

Man United striker Lukaku has reportedly been told he can leave the club to join Inter this summer. The Belgian seemingly has no place in Ole Gunnar Solskjaers set-up and the club are now willing to part ways with their front man. While Solskjaer is said to be happy for Lukaku to fight for his place,The Sun report Old Trafford chiefs have told the Belgian he canjoin Inter if they cough up the right amount for him.Lukaku struggled for form under Ole Gunnar SolskjaerGetty8

Conte tried to sign the striker while he was at Chelsea but the club instead opted to sign Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid, with Lukaku heading to Old Trafford instead – but the Italian is once again in the hunt for the bullish target man to lead the line.Have a look at the line-up in full below…Is this how Conte’s Inter could line-up next season?8

The incident occurred as the players celebrated their FA Cup defeat of Grimsby in January. The Welsh goalkeeper had requested a personal hearing, after which the FA said a breach of the disciplinary rules had been ‘found not proven’ by an independent regulatory commission.A statement from the FA on Friday morning said: “It was alleged that a gesture he made, which was captured by a photograph and posted on social media, was abusive and/or insulting and/or improper and/or brought the game into disrepute, contrary to FA Rule E3(1). “It was further alleged that this constituted an ‘aggravated breach’, which is defined in FA Rule E3 (2), as it included reference to ethnic origin and/or race and/or religion and/or belief.“The Crystal Palace goalkeeper had denied the charge and requested a personal hearing.”The Wales international denied he was making a such a salute, claiming on Twitter that he was calling out to the person taking the photograph and any resemblance to a Nazi salute was ‘absolutely coincidental’.

In a post on January 6, Hennessey said: “I waved and shouted at the person taking the picture to get on with it and at the same time put my hand over my mouth to make the sound carry.“It’s been brought to my attention that frozen in a moment by the camera this looks like I am making a completely inappropriate type of salute.“I can assure everyone I would never ever do that and any resemblance to that kind of gesture is absolutely coincidental. Love and peace Wayne.”Hennessey said in a statement on the club’s website following Friday’s announcement: “I’m delighted that the FA have found me not guilty of this charge.“This was a genuinely innocent moment, which appeared to be something completely different when captured on camera.“I want to state for the record that I abhor all forms of racism, fascism, anti-semitism or discrimination of any kind.”
