He was expected to be ruled out until March, but the Evening Standard report he could make a return to action against Burnley on Saturday – live on talkSPORT at 12.30pm.Kanes absence has not derailed Spurs title hopes, with Mauricio Pochettinos men winning four successive Premier League games, while thrashing Borussia Dortmund 3-0 in their Champions League last-16 first leg clash.Harry Kane damaged ankle ligaments last month2

However, the 20-goal strikers return will aid Spurs further in their attempts at winning silverware, with the club just five points off league leaders Manchester City.Speaking after Tottenham’s win against Leicester earlier this month, Pochettino revealed Kane could make a comeback at Turf Moor. He said: He is doing fantastic. We need to stop him every day because he wants to be ahead of his recovery and he’s very optimistic and determined to play as soon as possible.“It’s unbelievable. If you see him he’s nearly ready to play but we need to be realistic too and of course in between all the areas to take the best decision.“He’s so close to come back again. Not for Sunday, not for Wednesday but we will see after. Maybe [for Burnley], maybe yes.”

Liverpool say Sturridge has given “his full and unequivocal cooperation throughout the process”.

He desperately needs a season like Ryan Kent or Harry Wilson have managed. Kent won the Scottish PFA Young Player of the Year award but at 22, his time has likely passed for Liverpool. Wilson's 17 goals this season for Derby County may have earned him a shot at Liverpool - and that's the standard Woodburn needs to hit at the very least.

Marcus Rashford: How much has the Manchester United star improved, according to statistics?
Marcus Rashford has already scored more Premier League goals this season that he did in the whole of the 2017/18 campaign. The England international celebrated his 150th appearance in style on Saturday with another wonderful strike in the 2-1 victory over Brighton, his fifth goal in six league games.Marcus Rashford was among the goals yet again on Saturday1
Marcus Rashford was among the goals yet again on Saturday
For the first time in his career, Rashford has started ten league matches in a row, with interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer preferring him to Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez in the centre forward role. Here, talkSPORT.com takes a look at his stats from previous seasons to analyse his meteoric improvement.

Rashford in the 2016/17 Premier League season

Matches: 16 starts (16 substitute appearances)Goals: 5Assists: 1Shots per 90 mins: 1.4Key passes per 90 mins: 0.7Dribbles per 90 mins: 1.2WhoScored.com rating: 6.58After breaking into the senior squad during the 2015/16 campaign, the following season was a bit of an anti-climax.He saw plenty of game time under Jose Mourinho, and despite failing to contribute many goals or assists, it was a crucial season for his development as he established himself in the Red Devils first-team.

Rashford in the 2017/18 Premier League season

Matches: 17 starts (18 substitute appearances)Goals: 7Assists: 5Shots per 90 mins: 1.7Key passes per 90 mins: 0.6Dribbles per 90 mins: 1.3Who Scored.com rating: 6.76But he failed to kick-on and the 2017/18 season proved little different, as you can see by the numbers. There was hardly any sign of improvement in most areas, as he failed to gain many more starts or goals. He did, however, notch four more assists than the previous season as he was deployed increasingly in wide areas.

Rashford in the 2018/19 Premier League season

Matches: 15 starts (5 substitute appearances)Goals: 8Assists: 6Shots per 90 mins: 2.3Key passes per 90 mins: 1.1Dribbles per 90 mins: 1.2WhoScored.com rating: 7.10Finally, Rashford’s career has lift off. We’re just past the half-way point of the 2018/19 season, and already he has more goals and assists than any previous campaign. The 21-year-old has considerably more shots per game and produces more key passes as well, which is undoubtedly a result of the freedom granted to him by Solskjaer. What’s more, he nearly has as many starts as any previous season, and there are still 15 games to go.

A Killie statement also claimed a number of seats were damaged by visiting supporters, who saw their team move eight points clear at the top of the Premiership with their victory.Clarke, the Kilmarnock manager, is aware only a limited number of people were involved in the incidents, but that doesn’t mean the authorities should not punish this ‘mindless minority’.“The worrying factor on Sunday was that people came on to the pitch,” Clarke said. “But I believe it’s a criminal offence to go on the pitch, so there’s plenty of cameras and plenty of faces will be on those cameras, so the authorities have to deal with it.Former Rangers striker Boyd was struck by a coin thrown from the stands3

“You don’t want anyone throwing anything. People go to football to watch the game, they should watch the game.“Everyone keeps talking about the mindless minority, and it is. But I think the more sensible majority also have a part to play. They have to point out the mindless minority, and then the authorities can deal with it better.” Killie midfielder Rory McKenzie admitted it was frustrating to have to deal with the aftermath of the goal celebrations following Scott Brown’s 90th-minute strike.“Obviously conceding a goal that late wasn’t nice and then to have Celtic fans on in your face wasn’t nice as well,” he said.“The few that come in, there was no malice in it at all, most of them that I saw were young kids.

“To be fair they had their phones out. I think they were just trying to get pictures, there was no badness.“There was four minutes added on so we wanted the game to get going because there was still a chance to get an equaliser.“The fact that all the G4S staff were on the pitch for a minute or two, you wanted the game to get going again. That was the only frustrating thing on my part.”Brown’s late finish sent Celtic eight points clear in the race for the Premiership title3

McKenzie added: “The coin throwing is unacceptable. As Kris said, it could injure somebody.“I don’t know whether the cameras caught who (it was) but definitely something (needs to be done), harsher bans, stuff like that, because one day it will catch someone on the corner of the eye and damage will be done.“I spoke to Boydy after it and just after it hit him. It doesn’t show you on the video, but he picked it up and there were fans on the front row who had obviously seen it and they were just standing there shaking their heads. So it is a minority.”

The easiest way to calm things would be to get rid of Pardeux and bring in (for once) a decent manager, one who understands the modern game, someone like Rodgers, or Matinez, even Steve Clarke who IMO was given a raw deal, but who could be ideal for this side. Plus earn Ashley a lotta points from a majority of the fans.
